Runaway Bay Dawn Service
Set your alarm bright and early, and head down to the ANZAC Memorial located in the Runaway Bay RSL Sub Branch Cenotaph. This service is expected to start around 5am so make sure you get there with plenty of time to spare. Gather with other local Runaway Bay residents to remember all those who have fought so courageously in both 1915 and subsequent conflicts after.

In need for an energy boost and somewhere to reflect after the dawn service? Jump in the car and drive down to Sanctuary Cove where you will find Quay Street Cafe and Bar. Located along side the waters edge, you are able to enjoy a peaceful breakfast, while you continue to embrace the ANZAC spirit. Tuck into a delicious dish off their newly crafted breakfast menu which includes classics such as Salmon and avocado on toast with all the trimmings. The Quay Side Cafe and Bar is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day tucking into tasty food, sipping on refreshing drinks with friends and family. Fancy something sweet? Currumbin RSL Dawn Service
One of the larger services on the Gold Coast, if you are looking for a special location to remember the ANZAC spirit, head down to Currumbin RSL Dawn Service. With the dawn service commencing at 5am, you can either make your own way there, or jump on the shuttle service which is running continuously from 3:30am until the service begins. The March will assemble at 4:20am at Murraba Street, and is expected to arrive at Elephant Rock, Currumbin Beach for 5am. After the dawn service, the shuttle service will resume and depart from Currumbin Wild Life Sanctuary.

The Boatshed Bar
If you’re looking for an idyllic location to enjoy a peaceful breakfast after the dawn service, look no further than The Boatshed Bar. Located mere foot steps away from the ANZAC dawn service at Currumbin Creek, sit back and relax as you gaze over to the picturesque water’s edge. Home to a delicious breakfast and brunch menu, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to indulge in. Feeling naughty? Order one of their decedent hot chocolates for a morning treat; served up in a chic jam jar and topped off with cream and sprinkles, this beverage looks great and tastes even better.

Surfers Paradise RSL Dawn Service
If you live in or near Surfers Paradise don’t miss the dawn service outside the Surfers Paradise RSL. The fall-in is expected to assemble around 5:15am on Beach Road and will march to The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise Beach for the dawn service at 5:30am. Make sure you leave enough time to get to the event as the roads are expected to be busy.

Elston Bar
Located on The Esplanade, head down to the Elston Bar before or after the service. Opening up at the early time of 5am on Saturday, the crew at the Elston Bar will be all hands on deck, rustling up delicious bacon ad egg rolls for all you early birds who’ve skipped breakfast. If food at 5am doesn’t seem too appealing, swing by after the service and choose from their tasty morning menu which includes dishes such as the Artistic Breakfast with pulled pork, poached eggs and fresh rocket. Well-known for their great baristas, make sure you grab a takeaway coffee to wake you up and keep you alert during the dawn service.
