DIY Father’s Day Card

Great for kids of all ages, print out one A4-sized paper and fold it in half. Have your little one spend the afternoon jazzing the card up with personalised art and pictures. Depending on their age you might want to help with the wording.
What You Need:

  • A4 paper
  • Markers or paint

DIY Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Moustache Mug

Using a sharpie, let your kids draw an outline of a moustache around the top of a mug. After you have the outline you want, fill it in with porcelain paint—this may take a couple of coats. Don’t worry if it isn’t looking perfect, as this will only make the gift more personal. If you want a better idea of how it is supposed to look, check out these moustache mug tutorial illustrations.
What You Need:

  • Plain mug
  • Porcelain paint
  • Sharpie

Shaving Cream

Under your watchful eye, work with your little one in the kitchen to create some shaving cream. Simply melt the shea butter and coconut oil using the microwave. Mix these together, then add the essential oils. Give it a good stir, then leave it in the fridge to harden. Add baking soda and mix until light and fluffy, then pour it to a jar with a loving Father’s Day message. Kids love creating, and (most) dads need shaving cream, so this gift is the perfect solution. Use these shaving cream illustrations as a guide.
What You Need:

  • 2/3 cup of shea butter
  • 2/3 cup of coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 10-20 drops of your dad’s favourite essential oil (if he doesn’t have one lavender works great!)
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • Jar
  • Sharpie

Bacon Salt & Candy

Under your supervision, get your kid in the kitchen and cooking the perfect gifts for a bacon-loving dad. For bacon salt, simply the bacon bits and 1/2 cup salt in a blender and you’re done! For bacon candy, heat up your oven to 170°C, then prepare a baking try with aluminium foil. Spread your bacon bits on the tray and sprinkle with coconut sugar and a little salt. Bake for 15 minutes and it’s ready! Finally, just add both the bacon salt and candy into jars and get your little to write a personalised Father’s Day message.
What You Need:
Bacon salt:

  • 1 bag of bacon bits
  • 1/2 cup of sea salt
  • Jar

Bacon candy:

  • Bacon bits
  • Coconut sugar
  • Salt
  • Jar

Footprints Photo

Paint the bottom of your little one’s feet (or palm of their hands) with acrylic non-toxic paint, then press it down onto paper and frame it. Great for newborns to capture dad’s first Father’s Day.
What You Need:

  • Paper
  • Acrylic non-toxic paint
  • Photo frame

Unique DIY Wrapping Tip: Find any ordinary wrapping paper that’a white on the inside. Get the markers out and let the kids spend the afternoon drawing their favourite moments with dad. Then simply wrap your DIY Father’s Day gift so the illustrations are showing!
