Best workout tunes for every exercise

August 7, 2015 - 1 min read

Getting tired of your music and want to spice things up while you exercise? We have some great tunes for every excise to keep you going strong.

Jogging

Choosing the perfect song for a jog is all about the BPM (beats per minute). While everyone will have a different stride and speed, most people find a BPM of 160 pretty comfortable for some good old cardio. Try these songs for the perfect running speed:
HeyYa – Outkast
Happy – Pharrell Williams
Shake It Off – Taylor Swift

Walking

To get your sweat up on a great power walk, you want to follow the same rule as jogging and pick a song with a good BPM. Try slowing it down a little bit, and opt for songs with a BPM of around 120 to 130. Here are our favourites:
Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson
Boom Boom Pow – The Black Eyed Peas
Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO

In the weight room

The perfect tunes for lifting weights are all about feeling strong. Pick tunes with strong lyrics and bass to get you totally pumped up for that squat rack or bicep curl. Try these beats:
Stronger – Kelly Clarkson
Harder Better Faster Stronger – Daft Punk
Pump Up The Jam – Technotronic

Yoga

If you prefer to get your zen on and stretch it out with yoga, then your tunes need to be relaxing and smooth. Let your mind wander with these songs:
Requiem – Lights & Motion
Strong – London Grammar
To Me – Chet Faker

Feeling flat

Not feeling that workout, but know you should probably exercise? It’s time for some serious motivational tunes to get you up and moving. Try these tunes to get you out of your funk:
Antidote – Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party
Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen
