Snorkelling

If you’re not afraid of a little cold water, why not bring your snorkelling gear, along with your wetsuit, and experience the beauty under the waves. You’ll find a thriving underwater oasis at the famous Fly Point Park between Nelson Bay and Little Beach.

Explore on wheels

Grab the pushbikes for the family and get out into the sunshine—Port Stephens is a great place to explore by bike. From rugged mountain passes through to easy, family friendly coastal tracks, this is something everyone can enjoy! Forgot your bike? No problem, join a tour or hire a bike from one of the many kiosks.

Go for a hike

Port Stephens offers gorgeous lookouts that make hiking well worth it. Head up to the Tomaree Headland Lookout and take in the breathtaking views of Port Stephens and offshore islands. Give yourself about 45 minutes altogether for this amazing (and free) hiking trip.

Take advantage of the whale-watching season

Whale-watching season has just begun in Port Stephens, so this is the perfect time to organise a trip out to catch a glimpse of these spectacular mammals. There are also more than 140 bottlenose dolphins that call Port Stephens home, so you should be able to spot of few of them, too!
