All the questions you have on building a pool answered! Heres our tips and things to consider before installing a new pool in your backyard.

Are you looking to introduce a new pool into your backyard? With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to plan your dream oasis. Whether you’re after a long pool for doing a few laps, or would rather something small and intimate for a relaxing garden escape, it can all be achieved with help from an experienced pool builder.

What’s its purpose?

The first thing you should consider when installing a pool, is its purpose. While some people may find refuge in a small, quaint oasis, others might desire something a lot larger. By focusing on your primary reasons for getting a backyard pool, it will be easier to distinguish what size, depth and shape you should install.

Does it fit?

After deciding on what type of pool you’d like to install, it’s always a good idea to think about where you’ll place it. Obviously, you don’t want a pool that’ll take up your entire backyard—so we suggest marking out the size of the pool with tape, in the area you’d like it. This way you’ll get to see how it fits within the space.

Can everyone swim?

One big question that surrounds any new pool installation has to be—is it safe?. You want to make sure that it’s got proper exit points, as well as a shallow end for younger swimmers. You’ll also need to ensure your kids or anyone else who’ll be using it, are competent swimmers. If not, be sure to attend regular swimming lessons.

What are the local regulations?

When designing your pool, you must make sure all plans are within accordance to local and state laws. It’s a good idea to talk to your local council as soon as possible, so that you can find out exactly what you’ll need in order to comply with the building and safety regulations and requirements. This includes fundamentals such as pool fences, exit points and depths.
