This cultural celebration will blow your mind! Expect the unexpected as events range from a circus performance at the Kirra Hill Community Centre to a silent movie night at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It doesn’t matter if you’re taking your family or if you’re a lone ranger, you’re going to need some quality food to get you through. Here are 3 places that will more than satisfy your cravings during the Bleach Festival.

Bleach Fest #1

On March 6th the Bleach Festival Official Opening Ceremony will be held at Coolangatta – the birthplace of the festival itself. If you’re travelling from all parts of the Gold Coast to the festival, what better way to experience culture than by eating right opposite Kirra Beach.
Kirramisu Cafe and Restaurant

Located in close proximity to the opening ceremony, Kirramisu Cafe and Restaurant offer sumptuous lunch menus that will satisfy your hunger – no matter what taste you may have. If you’re feeling like something heavy then you should sink your teeth into a meaty Works Burger, otherwise they offer light choices like the Sweet Chilli King Prawn Salad. Regardless of your choice in food, you can’t forget to order a hot cup of Dimattina coffee and sip away while watching wave after wave roll in on one of the world’s most famous beaches.

Bleach Fest #2

On March 21st the Bleach Festival will be hitting Burleigh for ‘Ocean’, an experimental, cultural form of surfing which presents it as a performing art, rather than a competitive sport.
Barefoot Barista

Before you experience the ‘Ocean’, be sure to make your way down to Barefoot Barista for a spot of coffee. Only a short drive down the road, these passionate coffee enthusiasts use a coffee blend that is designed to slice through milk with chocolate and caramel notes, highlighted by dried, fruity spices. If you yourself aren’t a coffee enthusiast you may want to settle for an Acai Berry Bowl, which blends Amazonian frozen super fruit, banana, apple and nut cereal. The fruity but smooth taste will have you coming back for more.

Bleach Fest #3

Bleach Festival will be returning to Robina Town Centre with a show featuring giant ants, some strange fruit and incredible tunes. This show is for the whole family, and we all know what kids are like on an empty stomach. So for your sake and everyone else attending, get some food before settling in for an evening of Bleach style music, wonder and mesmerising performances.
Grill’d

Robina Town Centre offers an array of different food outlets for you to sink your teeth into, but if you want to satisfy the whole family, Grill’d is great. Grill’d are burger artists of the highest quality, using only the freshest ingredients. While it may not matter to some, the cows and lambs are 100% grass-fed, hormone-free and at liberty to casually roam the pastures. Also, much of what you eat is sourced from local, family-run businesses giving you peace of mind while enjoying your meal. The ‘Simply Grill’d’ burger is a common favourite with its mix of salad, relish & herbed mayo, while the ‘Chilli Addict’ burger could be an option for the braver souls who dare to try. Whatever you do, don’t forget a side of the famous Grill’d chips to go with your plate-sized burger. However, if you’re looking for a family conversation you may have to get that out the way early, as the silence will be deafening once the plates hit the table.
