For a locally-owned cafe on the Cassowary Coast, head to Mourilyan Cafe. If you’re looking for a decent feed, these guys serve up some incredible dishes for lunch. From big, juicy beef burgers to fresh fish and salad burgers, you can’t go past this friendly cafe without trying one of their famous stacks piled high with fresh ingredients. If this doesn’t quite fill the spot, order a succulent steak served alongside fresh salads or crispy hot chips for a delicious home-cooked meal.
This is also a BYO cafe, so if you enjoy your lunch with a crisp beer in hand, you can bring your favourite brews with you! Just a short drive from the beach, they also offer takeaway meals, so you can grab a serving of fish and chips to go and enjoy the beautiful seaside.

Millers Beach Bar & Grill
Millers Beach Bar and Grill is a popular restaurant and bar on the Cassowary Coast. Come down for dinner from Tuesday to Friday, or pop in after midday on weekends for a relaxing drink. Their lunch menu is packed to the brim with crisp seafood options and hot meals straight from the grill. Order yourself some fresh or Kilpatrick oysters, followed by the steak Diane or baked Atlantic salmon for a mouthwatering lunch.
If you just want something smaller to snack on, try some of their delicious chargrilled ciabatta bread served with tomatoes, olives and parmesan, or order a tomato and olive cob loaf to share with friends. Mission Beach Tavern
The Mission Beach Tavern is another dining venue near the ocean, specialising in juicy steaks and hearty meals for lunch and dinner. With the kitchen open from 11am every morning, you’ll be stuck for what to choose off their all-day dining menu. They have a huge range of different steak cuts (cooked how you like it), which are served with vegetables or salad, and chips for a delicious meal.
If you want to try something different, choose between one of their delicious burgers or opt for the vegetarian spinach and ricotta lasagne for something filling yet healthy! With fresh beers on tap, and a number of premium wines and spirits, if you’re looking for a relaxing lunch (that may turn into dinner) this is the place to head!
