Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery
Coffs Harbour Regional gallery is home to local and interstate artists looking to present contemporary and abstract art for exhibition. Throughout April there are three artists that are showcasing their work, all coming from very different backgrounds. Currently, Val Allen’s “A Celebration of Life” piece is grabbing the eyes of locals with its interesting and abstract approach to paint on canvas. The beauty of art is that you can interpret it in any way you want by seeing a mixture of visually exciting colours blended together. Later on in April you can also witness Salvatore Zofrea’s portrait painting – winner of the Archibald Price in 2014.

The Bunker Cartoon Gallery
The Bunker Cartoon Gallery was originally an old bunker in 1994 which was converted into an art gallery to showcase thought-provoking work. Since its transformation, it now hosts two main exhibition areas for viewers to visit and discuss contemporary issues relating to the featured pieces. What makes this art gallery different to anywhere else you have been is its feature of cartoon art which is comedic and light-hearted but still holds a strong political or social message. The current exhibition presents artwork incorporating themes of social concern, relating to youth and elders in Australia.
