Maroochydore Backpackers
If you haven’t yet booked your tickets or sorted out your accommodation for the festival, unfortunately the camping sites at the Big Pineapple are all booked out. Luckily the Maroochydore Backpackers are just a short cab ride from the festival and still have beds for those lucky few making the last-minute trip to the coast. If you’re looking for modern share accommodation and a cheap place to stay over the weekend, check out this awesome lodge.
This is a super popular accommodation option for tourists on the Sunshine Coast, with comfortable beds, a swimming pool, a wood-fired pizza oven and breakfast, as well as tea and coffee facilities at your disposal. Check into the Maroochydore Backpackers to meet some new friends and have a comfy night’s stay after tiring yourself out at the Big Pineapple Music Festival, without having to spend a fortune on your accommodation.

Kimnat Little Market & Cafe
Before you enter the gates at the festival, make sure you fill your belly to the brim with delicious food. Kimnat Little Market & Cafe is a five-minute drive or bus from The Big Pineapple, and has an awesome breakfast menu from 8-10:30am. Try the banana buckwheat pancakes served with warm berries, Greek yogurt, honey and cinnamon or one of their delicious homemade omelettes for a filling breakfast.
If you’re making a quick stop in before the festival gates open at 11am, try the gourmet veggie burger or the winter nachos – anything you choose off this menu is sure to keep you full all day. Make sure to grab yourself an organic, fair trade coffee and gluten-free treat before swapping out the tranquil café for the loud music festival.

Machu Picchu South American Restaurant & Bar
After you’re done singing along to the John Butler Trio, you’re probably still a bit wired and not wanting to head back to your accommodation. Just down the road from the Maroochydore Backpackers is the Machu Picchu South American Restaurant and Bar. This tapas restaurant and bar is licensed to midnight and serves up delicious food such as the chicken aji (layers of potatoes and Peruvian spiced chicken), or the asado de Costilla de res (slow roasted beef ribs with spiced honey sauce, black turtle beans and confit garlic).
This South American bar also serves up wines and beers from the region, as well as specialty sangria and cocktails. Try the Brazilian Kiss made with blueberries, Cachasa, Chambord, sugar, grenadine and passionfruit for a sweet beverage, or order a bottle of Aguila beer for a refreshing drink. For those travelling to the Big Pineapple Festival, make the Machu Picchu South American Restaurant and Bar your go-to spot after the music winds up.
