Giving a housewarming gift but don’t want to go with the standard vase or kettle? Do something a little out of the ordinary—something they couldn’t get anywhere else! Simply pick up some old glasses (they don’t have to be matching, that will add to the charm!) and your preferred colours in acrylic paint. Using a cotton bud, dot the base of each glass (not inside!) with an array of colours and let them dry. Pop the glasses base-side up into a cool oven and bake at approximately 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Let them cool and you’ve got yourself a unique housewarming gift!

Trying to give a gift to someone who has everything? Give these cosy sweater cushions a go.

There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with a few cosy cushions! If you’re itching for a DIY gift that requires no sewing machine and involves a few old sweaters you were going to toss anyway, this one’s for you! All you’ll need are some cushion inserts, old sweaters/cardigans, buttons and scissors, along with a needle and thread. Ideal for those friends who seem to have everything!

Want to say congrats on the new job? Give them a terrarium to brighten their office!

Terrariums are perfect for bringing a bit of the outdoors inside, and are essentially tiny ecosystems contained in a glass jar or bowl. The best thing about deciding on a terrarium is that they’re pretty cheap to make (usually under $15), and look amazing once you’re done. Just remember you’re going to be playing around with plants and soil, so it could get a bit messy!
