Bluesfest is Australia’s premier blues and roots music festival, with acts ranging from modern psych pop sensation Sitcky Fingers to newly famous singer-songwriter Hozier (and many more), who will be belting out all their latest hits. If you’ve managed to get your hot little hands on one of Thursday’s sold out tickets, but don’t to wait to be put to sleep by Angus and Julia at the end of the night, we’ve got the perfect solution for you.
Cheeky Monkeys Restaurant & Bar

Crazy atmosphere, Cheeky Monkeys – Byron Bay

Arguably Byron Bay’s premier nightclub destination, this crazy night-life venue is constantly jam-packed with backpackers, tourists and young locals all looking for the same thing – a good night out. During the day, Cheeky Monkeys is disguised as a restaurant where you can get affordable bistro-style meals, but once the day turns to night it’s a very different story. This Byron Bay nightclub has an interesting take on it’s dance floor design; instead of podiums you are encouraged to dance on tabletops. So, spend a unique night at Cheeky Monkeys jumping from table to table as you bump and grind the night away. Thursday night at Cheeky Monkey’s is their famous bikini contest, so if you’re planning on partying with your partner just keep that in mind. Whether you’re attending Bluesfest or not, head to Cheeky Monkeys if you want to have a night you’ll never forget.

Cocomangas is Byron’s longest running nightclub, this venue really knows how to throw a party. While the second floor isn’t open tonight, you can still dance the night away on floor one with all the other party-goers who will be flocking to this venue after a day of music at Bluesfest. Whether you’re into your cocktails or you’d prefer to indulge in some spirits to really get you in the mood, the extensive yet affordable beverage range at Cocomangas will be sure to satisfy your taste. While probably not as wild as Cheeky Monkeys, this nightlife venue is the perfect place to go have a good time with friends without having sweaty bodies grinding against you all night. Located in the heart of Byron Bay’s main strip, make sure you you pop into Cocomangas on your way home from Bluesfest and make the most of the great atmosphere provided. Just remember that lockout is 1:30am, so don’t leave it too late.

A couple of gear shifts down from the likes of Cocomangas and Cheeky Monkeys, this little Byron Bay nightspot is filled with really funky decor and is known for it’s ability to bring in some of the best local musical talent in the area. The interior is extremely fancy with leather couches, chandeliers and warm lighting, but don’t let that fool you. Once this place kicks into action, there is nothing fancy about it. Whether you’re heading back from Bluesfest with a bunch of mates or all your friends have had enough and you want to keep partying, La La Land is the perfect place to finish your night with a few drinks surrounded by friendly people in a fun-filled atmosphere. Located right next to Nomads backpackers, this venue is in a prime party location and is guaranteed to be jam-packed with backpackers and other young tourists all living for the moment.
