Coconut hair treatments

If your hair is feeling the stress from harsh weather conditions, extra virgin coconut oil will be its best friend! Coconut hair treatments are exceptionally effective for dry hair and has many benefits for your locks (Livestrong). Simply work this oil into your hair section by section and massage it into your scalp. Pack with a warm towel and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. After your hair has sat through its tropical invigoration, wash and condition as usual.

30 minute split-end hair treatments

Whether your hair is damaged, dry or split and you can’t quite tell which parts desperately need cutting, give this hair treatment a go. Combine two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of almond oil and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and slowly work the mixture into your locks. Start at the ends of your hair and focus on the strands that look extra damaged. Leave in for half an hour or more for the best effect. If you have really long locks, it may be best to double the mixture.

Witch hazel for oily hair

If you’re one of many that suffer from hair that goes greasy mere days after shampooing, try this treatment. Take 4 drops of witch hazel oil and mix well into 2 tablespoons of water. Dab a cotton ball into the mixture and pat it around your scalp, dabbing the ball back into the mixture when necessary. This can be a quick solution to fixing up an oily scalp without having to wash your hair every single day.

For shiny, voluminous hair

This treatment will leave your hair feeling deeply conditioned, as well as create bouncy, shiny locks. Mix the white of an egg with half a cup of natural yoghurt. Once these ingredients are well-mixed, apply to your scalp and hair, ensuring you cover as much of the hair as possible, down to the tips. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave in for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and wash your hair afterwards with a mild shampoo.
