Make your next family day out by the water. Here are some of the best places to cast a line on the Sunshine Coast.

Coolum Beach

Locals and tourists love Coolum for a spot of fishing. Along the coastline, you’ll be able to wrestle with the likes of tailor, jew and the occasional snapper. Teach your kids the ropes at Coolum Beach in some of its tucked away capes and rocky outcrops.

If you can’t stomach the thought of seeing any more fish, Coolum Charcoal Chicken is the perfect café stop-off for you. You can each order your own chicken or steak burger, or grab a family fest that comes with a whole chicken, potatoes, pumpkin, corn, peas, carrots, gravy and garlic bread to share.
This is a local hot spot for some fresh, healthy grub for the whole family. You can even try something different such as the banana and pineapple fritter for a sweet treat on the side. Grab your order to take away and sit by the beach while you recover from the massive day of fishing with the fam.
