Located in the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, you will be surrounded by stunning views of the region’s most unique flora and fauna. For breakfast their specialty includes a bacon and egg roll with spinach leaves and fruit chutney that will get your day started on the right foot. If it’s lunchtime a Caesar salad with crunchy cos lettuce, bacon, garlic croutons, parmesan cheese, egg and house dressing will hit the spot for only $14.90.
If you’re the arty sophisticated type, and you’ve picked the right day, then the gallery, located in the cafe, provides monthly exhibitions with an environmental or cultural theme. Specialising in gourmet seasonal food they have a dish for whatever mood you’re in. For those with a lighter pallet they offer a gluten-free muesli topped with seasonal fruit, honey and thick Greek yoghurt or if you’re into a bit of grease then the ‘Kens Cook Up’ will satisfy you – featuring free range eggs, bacon, fenelled sausage, mushroom and sourdough bread. If you didn’t get enough of the views Mackay has to offer during your drive, then you will not be disappointed as Civic Precinct views will surround you during your stay at Foodspace Cafe.
If you’re the cultured type, feel free to wonder around Artspace Mackay with a take away coffee and enjoy some of the finest art and holistic creations the place has to offer.
