Halloween is approaching and if you’re stuck for ideas we have some for you! From costume ideas to fun games, take a read and get inspired for this years spooky season.

The Witches Relay

This highly physical game is perfect for tiring out the kids after their sugar rush. Just make sure you have enough space for rogue brooms—we wouldn’t want any “magical” accidents!
You’ll need:

  • 2 brooms

How to play:

  • Create a starting point and a turn around point.
  • Split up the kids into 2 even teams and line them up in single file.
  • Give a broom to each of the first players.
  • When you say “Go!” the players with the brooms run (as if flying on the broom) to the turn around point, and then run back.
  • They then hand the broom to the next player, and so on.
  • The first team to have all their players complete the relay—wins!

Apple Bobbing

A Halloween classic, bobbing for apples is sure-fire entertainment for all involved!
You’ll need:

  • A round, shallow bucket
  • A few apples

How to play:

  • Fill the bucket with water and put in the apples so they float.
  • One-by-one, the players have to try and successfully take an apple out of the bucket using their mouths, without using their hands!
  • Have some prizes ready for the winners too!

The Pumpkin Hunt

As real pumpkins are a little bulky and could be difficult to hide, we recommend buying some plastic pumpkin baskets from your local supermarket or variety store, and filling them with lollies. This will make the hunt much more exciting for the kids!
You’ll need:

  • A pumpkin for each player
  • Some good hiding spots

How to play:

  • Hide the pumpkins around the house/play area.
  • Watch the kids frantically hun for their prizes!

And of course, you can’t go wrong with a Best-Dressed Competition!

Hype the kids up the whole night as you build-up to the grand prize for the spookiest costume. Letting them know of this competition before the party will really make their imaginations run wild when organising their costumes!
