5 Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day in the Whitsundays 2020
1. Watch the sunrise at any Whitsundays beach.
With some of the world’s best beaches all in the Whitsundays, you’re in for one almighty show at sunrise. You may even be able to spend the night out on one of the sailing boats around the Whitsundays and watch the spectacle from the water itself.
It doesn’t really matter where you are in the region either as the sunrises are insanely beautiful wherever you are.
2. Fuel up at a local café.
One thing is for sure, you’ll find some of the freshest fruit you’ll ever taste at cafés in the Whitsundays. Be sure to try a smoothie bowl or fruit salad, or even some pancakes loaded with berries and melon. Otherwise, you’ll still find all your favourites like eggs, bacon, fry ups and more.
3. Book a helicopter safari over the Whitsundays.
There is only one way to take in the true beauty of the Whitsundays — from the sky. You’ll be able to see just how clear and blue the waters are and how perfectly white the sand really is.
While there are a few different helicopter services in the Whitsundays, it is Valentine’s Day we’re talking about, so they may be booked out. If this is the case, make this your gift to your loved one by booking one in advance and surprising them at a later date.
Many services will also offer lunch, but if they don’t there are plenty of takeaway places in the area to grab a quick bite at any time of day.
4. Hop aboard a sunset cruise.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch the sunrise from the water, make sure you do it for sunset! There are a couple of different sunset cruises you can book in for, or hire out your own boat and hit the water, if you have your boating licence.
Now may be a good chance to bring out those flowers from the local florist too.
5. Wrap up the day at a romantic restaurant in the Whitsundays.
Whatever you and your partner are craving on Valentine’s Day, you’ll find it in the Whitsundays. There are vegan, seafood, Italian, Chinese, steakhouse, Australian cuisine and many more restaurants to choose from.
