Planning a wedding can be difficult at the best of times. That is why we have decided to compile a list of beach wedding locations and reception venues for your convenience. Don’t forget to ask the council for permission before rocking up in your tux and dress.
Happy Valley
Happy Valley (also known as Clarke Place Park) is an outdoor area in Caloundra that looks over Bulcock Beach and the Pumicestone Passage. With the best of both words, you will be able to have the feel of a beach wedding without dragging your dress through the sand. This open space offers wedding parties an impressive backdrop of gorgeous native trees and the ocean behind them. Once the wedding location is sorted, we’ve found the perfect reception venue nearby.
Tides Waterfront Dining
Could there be a better place to hold your reception than at Caloundra’s premier restaurant? Tides Waterfront Dining is passionate about serving great food in front of stunning views. Tides can cater for every occasion and has seen its fair share of wedding parties throughout the years. If you want to celebrate your new life with family, friends and the freshest seafood on the coast then Tides Waterfront Dining is the place for you.

Kings Beach
Kings Beach consists of 500m of pure, white sandy beach and south-east facing views. With the magical ocean moving behind you, you might have a hard time keeping your guest’s attention at this stunning wedding location. Kings Beach would be perfect for a private or small scale wedding of up to around 20 people. Away from the public, this couldn’t be more romantic. We have found a reception venue with views that could hold their own against Kings Beach.
Saltwater at Kings
Boasting beach views that can’t be beaten, Saltwater at Kings is a beachfront venue with professional service and a high attention to detail. The friendly staff will make your guests feel welcome as your reception kicks off without a hitch. The team at Saltwater have catered hundreds of weddings over the last 10 years. Sir Leslie Wilson Park
Sir Leslie Wilson Park is one of the most popular park locations for weddings. Also known as Little Dickies Park, this beautiful venue is located on Dicky Beach and shows off a charming foreshore and a plethora of space to add in all of your family, friends and loves ones. If you can drag your guests away from this location, there is the perfect reception venue within walking distance.
Dicky Beach Surf Club
With private function rooms, Dicky Beach Surf Club offers a customisable setting for your wedding reception. They have two function rooms available, an indoor room and an all weather deck that can both hold about 50 people, and offer a cocktail/finger food menu. If you would like to utilise both areas, Dicky’s can cater for around 100 people for a finger food menu or around 80 people for a complete sit-down menu. If you’re feeling extra lucky on the big day, you can even sneak out to the gaming lounge!

The Alexandra Headlands
The Alexandra Headlands might just offer one of the best ocean views on the Sunshine Coast. Stretching from the headlands right across to Mooloolaba Beach, this wedding location could be the one to rule them all. This location has a memorial platform that makes setting up a wedding that little bit easier. Your photographer will simply love you for choosing this location, and their stomach will be thankful for the reception venue we’ve found as well.
The Boat Shed
This restaurant provides patrons with the typical Sunshine Coast dining experience – relaxed, contemporary and with views to boot. Wedding parties can enjoy views of the stunning Maroochy River as they spread out over their very own private lawn area under the Cotton Tree. Offering a catering plan of contemporary Australian cuisine, the team also welcomes discussion of individual dining requirements and is happy to cater to your needs. This unique location will be the perfect setting to end your big day with a bang.
