The Sugar Beat Cafe is a bakehouse and coffee shop on the streets of Murwillumbah. Open from Monday to Saturday for breakfast and lunch, this should be your number one stop for those icy cold days. What better to warm you up than with some freshly baked goods alongside a hot coffee, chocolate or tea? Take a seat inside the toasty, decked out retro cafe and choose something off their menu. Meals include traditional breakfast options such as eggs on toast, pancakes stacks, or if you’re visiting for lunch try their chunky beef burger.
Once you’ve had something filling to eat, top it off with a healthy side of comfort food such as banana cream pie or fresh out-of-the-oven scones. This will go perfectly alongside your smooth blend of coffee, or your hot chocolate with marshmallows. Whether it’s from the bright and sunny decor, or hot food, you’ll be warmed up in no time when you visit the Sugar Beat Cafe.

If you need a good reason to get out of bed, visit the Footbridge cafe in Brunswick Heads. Located just across from the water, this little cafe offers protection from the outside world in their rustic-style shop front. Step inside and you’ll immediately smell the Moonshine coffee beans brewing, lovingly tended to by talented and passionate baristas. Grab a quick snack to eat (such as a muffin or croissant) or choose from the breakfast menu for something truly scrumptious.
At the top of the comfort food list is their ricotta pancakes, doused with maple syrup and topped with crunchy bacon. If you’d prefer a savoury snack, order their baked eggs for a dish that will keep you warm. Served with sourdough toast, and baked in a rustic tomato sauce topped with cheese, this is a dish that will heat you up from the inside out. Don’t miss out on visiting Footbridge this winter.

Lulu’s Cafe
Situated in the cosy little town of Mullumbimby is Lulu’s Cafe. With a focus on sustainable food, Lulu’s Cafe serves up a delicious wholesome menu for breakfast, morning tea and lunch. For a warm bite to eat in this cold, bitter weather, try their eggs and beans; fried eggs served with spiced cannellini beans, rocket and toast. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, try the herbed omelette and toast and ask for a side of potato rosti.
One thing Lulu’s Cafe is renowed for has to be their delicious, freshly brewed coffee. Order yourself a giant cuppa to warm up in the morning; you can try from their original, organic and decaf blends so no matter your preference there’ll be a hot drink to suit you. They also have a huge range of loose leaf teas, and delectable hot chocolate with marshmallows. Perfect for this June weather!
